Logan International Airport
Massachusetts’ and greater New England’s largest airport is situated on the eastern edge of Boston. Each year, more than 28 million passengers fly into Logan International Airport from destinations all across the US and Europe. JetBlue operates most of the connections out of Boston, along with Delta, US Airways, and American. Chicago is the busiest domestic route, followed by Atlanta, Washington DC, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. International flights run to London-Heathrow, Paris, Toronto, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam.
There are four terminals at Logan, all of which are connected by shuttles and moving walkways before security. Banking services and ATMs can be found in all areas, along with a good selection of restaurants and shops. There are spas and hair salons in terminals C and B, and Wi-Fi internet is provided throughout the entire airport. The useful Kidports in terminals A and C help to keep youngsters entertained. The Hilton and Hyatt have nice hotels located directly in the airport.
There are many options for ground transportation between the airport and Boston. Dedicated shuttle buses run to Framingham, Peabody, Woburn, and Braintree at reasonable prices, while those traveling light can use the Boston subway, the rapid transit bus, or a water taxi to reach downtown. Nine major car rental companies like Avis and Budget also have offices outside Baggage Claim to help you get on the road and on your way to anywhere in Massachusetts.
Bradley International Airport
Although Bradley International Airport is located in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, it is the most convenient place to fly into for reaching destinations in western Massachusetts. It is just a few miles from Springfield, Massachusetts, as well as the Berkshires and Pioneer Valley. Bradley International Airport is New England’s second busiest airport, handling over five million passengers a year.
Air Canada, American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, United, and US Airways are the carriers with regular service. The busiest domestic routes are Orlando and Atlanta, followed by Baltimore, Chicago, and Charlotte. The only international destinations served out of Bradley are Toronto and Montreal in Canada, with seasonal flights to Cancun, Mexico. The single terminal has a full range of passenger amenities including Wi-Fi internet, VIP clubs, and plenty of food options. Ground transportation is provided by local bus, taxi, limo, and eight major car rental companies including Hertz, Enterprise, and Thrifty. Interstate 91 connects the airport to Springfield and beyond in minutes.
