Mexico has long since been a go-to for family vacations but deciding which resort fits all of our family’s needs is always quite a challenge. After months of research, family meetings and weighing every pro and con, we decided to spend five nights at the Dreams Vista Cancun. The resort is a luxurious all-inclusive property situated in the heart of Cancun, just minutes from the Cancun International Airport. Convenience is key at this resort, serving as a perfect destination for families seeking a fun and memorable vacation, while offering a wide range of amenities and activities, from delectable dining options to exciting excursions, providing guests with endless opportunities for relaxation and adventure.
One of the most important and notable features of Dreams Vista Cancun is its beautiful location. The resort is situated on a pristine, calm white sandy beach without any of the peddlers or vacation traffic that other beaches offer. Moreover, seaweed was not an issue here and there were always ample lounge chairs available. It truly was a perfect spot to soak up the sun and enjoy the crystal-clear waters including lounging on one of their over-the-water hammocks. The resort also offers a range of water sports activities such as kayaking and paddleboarding - all part of their Unlimited Luxury® inclusions. To further round out our experience we decided to go on a sailing adventure, and it was everything we could have wanted. Perfect wind, a calm ocean, and the ability for the kids to show off their sailing lessons that they’ve been taking at camp all these years. Quite the win!
In addition to water sports, Dream Vista Cancun also offers plenty of land-based activities including a waterpark, surf pools and a state-of-the-art comprehensive fitness center offering state-of-the-art equipment and a dedicated area for group classes including yoga. The water park features multiple slides, a lazy river, and a splash zone, providing hours of entertainment for children and adults alike. As any traveling parent knows, having an area that you can leave the kids for hours, without a care in the world, is what true dreams are made of. The resort even has a “Core Zone Teens Club” that offers a variety of indoor and outdoor activities including interactive games such as ping-pong, air hockey, pool, and more. Every child in our group had more than enough options to keep busy! While it wasn’t applicable to us, families with young children can take advantage of the resort's Explorer's Club, which is a perfect place for kids to have fun and make new friends while participating in various activities such as treasure hunts, sandcastle contests, and movie nights.
Dining is something that we take very seriously and is a top consideration when we’re traveling. Dreams Vista over delivers with unlimited access to a variety of restaurants, each with its unique atmosphere and cuisine including World Cafe, which serves international cuisine in a buffet-style setting, and the Sushi Bar, which offers a variety of fresh sushi and sashimi. There is also an Italian restaurant, a French restaurant, and a Mexican restaurant, providing guests with a diverse range of dining options. While all venues were memorable, the most note-worthy restaurant is Vista Prime, the new asado-style restaurant concept, located on the 17th floor rooftop where the chef and sommelier take guests on a guided culinary journey that integrates an open kitchen concept and expansive mixology menu and wine cellar. The new restaurant, which opened in December 2022, boasts a bohemian-inspired atmosphere styled with rustic wood features, beautiful stone floors and local vegetation. While dining, guests will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Cancun and be surrounded by lounge music from the resort’s DJ.
The breakfast buffet at the World Cafe is always a huge hit for our kids, as they love the independence and options. The buffet offers a wide range of fresh and delicious breakfast items, including eggs, bacon, pastries, fruit, cereal, made-to-order omelets, pancakes, and waffles, and so much more!
For adult guests seeking a more luxurious and peaceful experience, the resort offers an exclusive VIP adult pool located on the roof top, sixteen floors above the turquoise waters below. Offering a tranquil and serene atmosphere, ideal for relaxing and unwinding, we enjoyed the stunning views of the ocean and sipping on refreshing cocktails from the poolside bar and the exclusive menu which includes some of the best tuna tostadas I’ve ever had. After enjoying a few hours up there without the kids, we normally visited the Coco Café for a caffeine fix. The 24/7 Café is another delightful spot at Dreams Vista Cancun, providing a wide array of coffee drinks, pastries, and ice cream. The kids especially loved frequenting the café multiple times each day and provided a nice relaxing, sun-free respite from the pool.
After dinner, one of the standout features of the resort is the variety of entertainment options, including karaoke and silent disco. Karaoke offered us a chance to bond, be silly and show off our pipes with others. The resort has an excellent karaoke lounge equipped with high-quality sound systems and a large selection of songs to choose from. As much fun as karaoke was, their silent disco night was another unique activity, where we all enjoyed dancing to our favorite songs -- in silence. The resort provided wireless headphones that allow you to tune into the music of your choice while around the pool.
Finally, if you have the urge to leave the resort, Dreams Vista Cancun also offers a range of exciting excursions that allow families to explore the beauty of Cancun and its surroundings. Some of the popular excursions include snorkeling and scuba diving at the Great Maya Reef, a visit to the Chichen Itza and a boat & snorkel activity that we took part of and had a quite the blast.
I think it goes without saying how much fun we had at this luxurious resort. Every employee always had a smile on their face, every night we went to sleep excited to wake up to spend another day there and it’s a vacation that we are still talking about today. We will definitely be back, and I encourage you to do the same!
