You may have to line up to get in, but when you do, oh my is it worth it! There are decadent sweet breakfast options such as their incredible graham cracker French toast, or towering Monte Cristo French toast, as well of lots of great savory options.

10AM MOTOWN HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Energetic and engaging tourr guides mean that you walk away from the Motown Historical Museum feeling that you got an education not only about the history of Motown, but that you understand the emotion and impact that it had on America too. In no way stuffy, this is an essential stop when visiting Detroit.

A six-block long public market that has been buzzing since the late 1800s, the Eastern Market is Saturday's go-to for shopping and eatting local. Browse hundreds of open-air stalls and specialty vendors and grab a bite (or three) for lunch. If you're there any other day of the week, there are also permanent restaurants and bars in the area.

2PM THE HEIDELBERG PROJECT

Embodying everything Detroit wants to stand for, The Heidelberg Project is a beacon of hope, an open-air community art project on the East Side. Using everyday, discarded items to create two blocks of color, symbolism, and intrigue, they offer a bright vision for the future. Taking a stand to revive forgotten neighborhoods, the houses are living art.

4PM DETROIT INSTITUTE OF ARTS MUSEUM

With one of the biggest and most culturally important art collections in the country, the Detroit Institute of Arts Museum is a fab place to spend a couple of hours enriching your artistic soul.

7PM SLOWS BBQ

A dining institution in Detroit, Slows BBQ has a hard to miss entrance, but it's by no means under the radar. Featured on the Food Network, their signature dish is the Yardbird, a pile of smoked chicken that has been doused in mustard sauce. Also not to miss are the sweet potato mash and baby back ribs.

9PM THE SUGAR HOUSE

Just a few steps from Slow's, this popular speakeasy has amazing craft cocktails in a darkly lit, romantic space. They also have a great selection of small-batch beers and a solid wine list. Always slammed, come people watch and be hip.

11PM CLIFF BELLS

Don't miss Cliff Bells for a nightcap. Popular since the prohibition era, it looks like an old theater from the outside, but through the doors and you'll be transported back in time to the 1930s where a lavish, art-deco interior sets the stage for world-reknowned jazz performances. As an added bonus, you just may run into Ryan Gosling who's a regular when he's in town.

7AM DETROIT RIVERWALK

Wake up to a beautiful sunrise over the recently revamped RiverWalk. With 5.5 miles of beautiful urban development, there are various events throughout the year including tai chi, reading clubs, biking, and walking groups in the morning and concerts, movies and events at night.

9AM LOUIE'S HAM & CORNED BEEF

Huge portions of great food (four eggs in every omelet) make Louie's Ham & Corned Beef a locals favorite, plus, meals here are cheap.

11AM BELLE ISLE PARK

The beautiful Belle Isle Park was designed by one of the same arhitects that designed Central Park in New York, and is a gorgeous place to take a stroll and walk off some of that huge breakfast, offering gorgeous views over downtown Detroit, and Windsor across the border in Ontario.

1PM LAFAYETTE CONEY ISLAND OR AMERICAN CONEY ISLAND

The Detroit Coney Dog wars have been raging since the early 1900s. Started by brothers, a family feud led the famous hot dog restaurant to be split in two, Lafayette Coney Island and American Coney Island, residing right next to each other to this day. The favorite is still up for debate, but American has come out on top in several competitions, including theFood Network and Travel Channel and has also been featured on Good Morning America and The Today Show. Try them both and see what you think.

2PM CAMPUS MARTIUS PARK

A 2.5 acre public square and entertainment venue, whatever the season there is always something going on. Right in the heart of downtown on Woodward Avenue, Campus Martius Park features ice skating in winter, live bands in summer and fun people watching year-round.

4PM EXPLORE GREEKTOWN

This historic neighborhood has tons of amazing authentic Greek food and a bustling atmosphere in the streets. One of the last surviving Visctorian-era commercial streets in downtown Detroit, it's now a thriving entertainment district. If you like playing the slots, there is also a casino.

5PM JOE MUER SEAFOOD

Prepare to have one of the best seafood meals of your life here. Definitely dressy, there's a pianist playing to accompany you as you eat. From the lobster bisque to the beautifully prepared steaks and sushi, this place is a fabulous spot to enjoy your last dinner in Detroit.

7PM ATWATER BREWERY

For the best in Detroit craft beers, the Atwater Brewery is second to none. Offering tastings and a beautiful view of the riverfront, it's a great place to end the night with a Vanilla Java Porter or Decadent Dark Chocolate Ale.
