Leave it to musical superstar Miranda Lambert to make country-chic and luxury accommodations a thing. Her latest business venture, the first celebrity bed and breakfast in Oklahoma, is quickly changing the way people view the state and its accommodations. Intentionally mismatched prints, statement furniture, reclaimed wood, and glamorous chandeliers characterize the space, which is a homey mix of urban cowgirl. But if you just happened to wander into the place, you’d never know it was her baby.

Located in the downtown area of small southern town called Tishomingo, The Ladysmith is purposely designed to inspire images of the Wild West and the saloons that once lined Main Street. But simply decorating in a historic western fashion is far too pedestrian for a star like Lambert. Instead, the hotel is a thoughtful tribute to themes found in Miranda’s music — a whole lot of country and a little bit of rock and roll.

Honored as “the South’s Best New Hotel” by Southern Living, the Texas-native pulled out all the stops producing a bed and breakfast that exemplified the best characteristics of one of her favorite states. Add in cozy accommodations, delicious food, and funky bars, and you’ve got the recipe for a perfect little getaway.

Here’s what we love about The Ladysmith (and what you will too):

The themed rooms

The Ladysmith’s bedrooms are a modern take on themes found in an old cowboy town like Tishomingo. With one bedroom called The Judge, cattle hands will feel right at home in the Laci Jill. Or, if a romantic escape for two is more your speed, the Knaughty Pine has “plenty of room to play.” It’s not all play, though. The staff took great care in preserving the original building from 1901 and incorporating the best of the historic structure into the design.

It isn’t hard to find a party

Married to country party boy Blake Shelton, it should come as no surprise that The Ladysmith has an incredibly well stocked bar and two lounges on site. Take in the views, enjoy the hustle, and sip on a cocktail made with Texas or Oklahoma Vodkas while watch the hustle and bustle from The French Quarter’s balcony, made to look like the ones found in New Orleans. If a nightcap is desired, mix and mingle with the other guests and a life-sized statue of Marilyn Monroe in the Losa Lounge.

Adventure is right around the bend

If there’s one thing Miranda loves more than Blake, it’s the great outdoors and Tishomingo isn’t lacking in that regard. Once home to the Chickasaw Native American tribe, the land in and around Tishomingo has been painstakingly preserved to protect the wildlife and local history. A favorite of locals and visitors, the National Wildlife Refuge is the perfect place to spend a day hiking and kayaking after being pampered at The Ladysmith.
