Leave the Slopes Behind
While the heart and soul of the resort is certainly the ski slopes, that’s not all that Sun Peaks has to offer. Dozens of tours are offered throughout the season to highlight other winter activities around the three peaks including snowshoeing, dogsledding, Nordic skiing, and snowmobiling. With fun outings like Moonlight & S’mores and Winter Wonderland, the snowshoe tours are especially popular among families and large groups. It’s Only Getting Better
Just in time for the 2017 season, a special trail has been added on Mt. Morrissey to honor one of Sun Peaks' own. Simply called “In Tatters,” the steep terrain was named after long-time Mountain Operations Manager Jamie Tattersfield. While the run has been a work-in-progress for several years, Director of Outside Operations Barney Mouat says he thinks the trail will be a big hit with advanced skiers and is a fitting addition to the already extensive network at Sun Peaks.
